The management of head trauma and brain injuries is carried out in its acute phase with the services of the LIMOGES University Hospital (Resuscitation, Neuro-Surgery). Since 1978, the psycho-rehabilitation department, now the Adrien Dany center, located at the Esquirol Hospital, then welcomes people with brain injuries, mainly severe head injuries, in resuscitation and neuro-surgery care. This center is made up of a health sector and a rehabilitation sector:
• The health sector:
It includes a full hospitalization unit with 37 beds, 15 of which have been reserved for vegetative and minimally conscious states since September 2009, and a day hospitalization unit with 10 places.
• The rehabilitation sector (medical-social):
